Character History

Personal History Oliver and his twin sister Olivia was born in the City of Chicago, Earth to Kyle and Mason Ross; civilian researchers. Much like their brother Elias, the twins were a surprise as it was believed that Mason was thought unable to conceive. Oliver was a typical energetic child who often got into trouble along with his older brother.

During his teenage years Oliver grew fascinated by his parents work and often shadowed his father who was working on enhancing communications systems on Starships. It was the hope of his parents that Oliver would follow in their footsteps, but that all changed when Oliver decided to join Star Fleet instead as his brother had done so earlier.

At the Academy Oliver excelled in his studies. His major field was Engineering and Operations. Though he preferred the latter as it coincided with his fastidious nature.

Oliver was approved for an internship on Starbase 221 for his final year. He acted as an Operations and Communications Officer and remained there afterward. Starbase 400 was his first commission after graduation. He transferred back to Star Base 221 at the request of the Base Commander.

Alongside his work on the Starbase, Ross was also ACOO for USS Baltimore, an Archimedes class vessel assigned as the companion vessel for SB221. He remained on SB221 for several years until the Executive Officer William Yaul was given his first command of the USS Ward.

It was on the Ward when Oliver received word that Elias was removed from command of the Saturn for actions unbecoming a Star Fleet Officer. Elias was Oliver's hero and to hear of what his older brother had done it caused a major rift between the Ross boys. Which continues to this day.

Oliver was Assistant and then Chief of Operations of the ward and when the opportunity arose, he requested transfer to the Ark Royal after the Ward was decommissioned. And, after a few months on board he was transferred to the USS Sentinel in the same capacity when the same fell upon the Ark Royal.
